We started the day around 7 am with a trip to Tokyo Tower. It was a bit more difficult to reach from the metro than expected, especially without internet. Not having Google Maps is quite a change XD. We had breakfast at a café where I had something that looked like toast but was actually a thick pancake. It was pretty good ^^. Tokyo Tower is a broadcasting mast but also serves as an observation point. We took a little tour where we were given a phone as a tour guide which provided information about important landmarks in each direction. Fun fact: many skyscrapers are built at an angle to the Tower so that they have a view of it from as many windows as possible.
Unfortunately, the highest viewpoint at 250m was closed off, so the view wasn't as nice as further down.
Afterwards, we went to Harajuku. It's advertised as a trendy neighborhood for young people who dress extravagantly. Visual kei, goth, punk, cosplay,... Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Maybe it was the wrong time, but there was definitely no shortage of people. It was crowded, but with pretty 'normal' people. However, a few shops did have some crazy clothes.
In Harajuku, we also went to a hedgehog cafe where we could hold and feed the little ones. Sooo cute.
After walking through the shopping street, we made a detour to Meiji Jingu Temple nearby. There were also many visitors here and apparently some event was taking place. Many families had dressed their children in kimonos. Very pretty.
