Christian and I have been here once before in 2011, this time we had more rain. Nevertheless, we won't let it dampen our spirits and we stroll through a city that had to be rebuilt after the Baedeker Blitz. Sometimes you feel ashamed when you read that.
After our city stroll, we also visited a winemaker, because there are a few in Kent. Chartham vineyard is idyllic, the barn was a journey back to studying for Christian as an architect, and the wine was exceptionally good. The winery hasn't been around for long, but the owners are very nice. The four-legged friend on site was extremely nice, I got a lot of kisses!
The small storm that apparently causes flooding at home is also noticeable here. We went out with rain gear twice and despite the rain and wind, we found a really beautiful forest for our walks. It's a bit far for the BRK Search and Rescue Dog Team Traunstein as a training location, but it's really great!
Since it's raining, you just have to move on with other things in life. I'm listening to an audiobook and knitting socks on the side, which I will definitely need soon. My choice of audiobook is currently 'Clanlands', which is read by the two authors. Apparently there is also a series about it, but I can't keep up at the moment.
Internet is a tricky thing, it costs extra and of course streaming is not allowed. That means that in a few months I definitely want to see things, BUT I see room here for knitting and good entertainment with my husband. You just have to seize the opportunities!
