There are a few unpleasant days in the hospital between Travemünde and the GEROLDSAUER MÜHLE; I've got that behind me now and I'm feeling better mentally again. The rest will be found.

We set off for Baden-Baden very early this morning. According to the calendar, autumn has now arrived here, which can be seen from the morning temperatures: six degrees is already pretty cool. So put on the self-knitted booties and off we go with the car, for which a background had to be found.

The GEROLDSAUER MÜHLE is located on the B500 (Schwarzwaldhochstraße) and still belongs to Baden-Baden. Of course, at such an early hour (it's only just after 8 a.m.) the restaurant is still closed. By the way, this also includes a beautiful beer garden by the stream. But the bakery not only had lots of rolls, sweet pieces, breads and other baked goods, but also lots of cakes and tarts. A lot of these have already been sold. Customers also come here from further afield by car, motorbike and bicycle to shop for breakfast. It's a very nice place - even if the market was closed. It is also possible to stay overnight here and get a nice breakfast.

The journey then continued along the Black Forest High Road towards Mummelsee. Unfortunately the road was closed and we were redirected back via Bühlertal. Back in BÜHLERTAL we passed the entrance to the ENGELSTEIG from April of that year. BURG WINDECK above Bühl is a ruin, next door is the hotel and restaurant of the same name. A narrow road leads up, and from above there is a wonderful view over the landscape - which is now covered in fog.

Following the detour, we drove back down the valley to visit the RACEROUND TRACK in IFFEZHEIM - it could be a nice background image. Unfortunately it wasn't successful. But we had a great breakfast in town. HC – the Hardt Café has been around for 80 years! Since it's on the main street of the town, it might be a bit noisy if you eat breakfast outside. It's definitely worth a visit.
