Hello everyone
Today we had our climbing afternoon, so this morning the main focus was: relax :)
We woke up around 8 o'clock, got ready and first of all sat on the terrace. After that we went for breakfast and then back to the bungalow. During this time we planned a bit for our further travel :)
So far it is certain that our next destination will be 'Koh Lanta' and that we will celebrate New Year's Eve on 'Koh Phangan' :D....
At 1:30 p.m. we made our way to the climbing shop, which we reached as desired at 1:50 p.m. (we had to buy something to drink on the way:)).
I was beaming when I saw our guide again and he warmly greeted me back.
Equipped and ready to go, we headed to the already familiar Railay East Beach :)
When we arrived there, my guide asked me if I would like to lead climb. (Lead climbing means that you are the one who leads and pulls the rope up.)
Of course I wanted to! He explained everything to me very precisely and I was amazed at how simple it actually is in terms of rope handling. The big change is that you really have to climb slower to not overlook any of the bolts. Because at every bolt you place a kind of rope protection and if you are above it and you fall, you will fall until the last protection.
We started on a very easy wall at level 4, in between we did a few normal 'top rope' climbing routes and slowly worked our way up to 5c in lead climbing.
Kevin always climbed the same routes as me, but so far without lead climbing. Unfortunately, his shoes were way too tight, so he had to bail out a bit before me.
On one route, he even got climbing accompaniment from a monitor lizard, until it decided to take a longer break. We all watched this spectacle spellbound :)
Afterwards, I did two more pitches and then we packed up satisfied.
Back at the shop, we immediately booked the next and final tour for the day after tomorrow, but this time in the morning. We will visit a new climbing spot, the Diamond Cave - that will be awesome again!
Afterwards, we bought two Red Bulls, sat by the sea and stayed there until it got dark.
Since we were on this side, I showed Kevin the pretty restaurant where Mama and I had enjoyed our meals.
I had a Massaman curry, Kevin had fried rice with seafood and two banana shakes - really delicious :)
Satisfied, we made our way back, bought some snacks and drinks for the terrace, and that's where we will spend the rest of the evening :)
Until tomorrow ;)
