Adventurous hike!!

On Good Friday, we left Addo Elephant Park and drove to Jefferson Bay. That is South Africa's surfer mecca, so there are also many cool stores for surfers and co. :D We strolled through the stores a bit and checked out the cool surfer boys and girls area ;D In the afternoon, we arrived in Tsitsikamma and spent the evening comfortably.

On Saturday the 31st of March, things got tiring :D

We started early for the morning hike in Tsitsikamma National Park. It was beautiful! beautiful! On the left, there was the sea with cliffs, rocks, bays, and on the right, there was a forest. Right when we entered the park, we saw dolphins in the water. What a privilege. They were jumping through the waves. And after a short time, an impala also jumped right in front of us through the woods. Many rock hyraxes were lying on the rocks. It was like being in a different world. When the forest path ended, there were rocks. We had to climb and be careful not to slip or fall into a hole. I almost fell from a cliff once, if Jo hadn't grabbed my arm at the last moment. It was dangerous but also really adventurous! We then walked to a waterfall and the water was totally black. Apparently, it contains a lot of minerals. We had our snack break there and enjoyed the view and the soundscape. Then we went back the same way. When we were back at the truck, we could decide whether to walk further to a bridge or sit in the restaurant. Guess what I decided ;D after a delicious salad and a cool cola, we went back to the camp and had the afternoon free. We then had a coffee and cake in the small village and enjoyed life. In the evening, it was time to cook. It was our turn to cook a German dish. That was something special but it tasted delicious and we had a lot of fun!

On Sunday the 1st of April, we could sleep in. There was a delicious breakfast with scrambled eggs. Then we drove off and picked up the others who had done a morning activity. They went zip-lining. When we arrived, it turned out that it took longer than expected. That was the start of a day full of delays and misunderstandings. In hindsight, we laugh about it :D so we waited on site for 2 hours. Accordingly, the whole plan for the day had to be postponed. Our walk to the Big Tree afterwards was more like a race. The tree is 800 years old and really gigantic. You would probably need 10-15 people to surround the trunk. Then we drove to the world's largest bridge where you can bungee jump. One person in our group wanted to try it, and we sat downstairs, watching the whole thing on TV while enjoying a delicious meal. That was something. I wouldn't do it in 10 cold winters :D but it was fun and afterwards, I was full of adrenaline :D

We then continued with a delay because we misunderstood the time to continue. But it didn't matter, we still arrived at the Wildcat Rehabilitation Center. The wildcats are there because they have either been abandoned or rescued from human captivity. We even went into the cheetah enclosure and got a close look at the animals. Simply majestic. Suddenly, the two of them got up and walked towards us. We had to quickly return to the gate, otherwise they would have surrounded us and no one would have known what would happen next. We felt like in Jurassic Park :D

Afterwards, we looked at leopards, white lions, and finally, meerkats. These animals are just so incredibly cute. I could watch them for hours!

After a round of adventure, we went to the beach and peacefully had a coffee before heading to Plettenberg Bay for our accommodation. We arrived there 2 hours later than expected, but that didn't bother us because Tim and I got an upgrade in rooms and there was a delicious à la carte dinner. It was an eventful and successful day despite unexpected events.
