Yesterday, after the long journey, I had to take a painkiller for the first time to fall asleep. So we got a good night's sleep and didn't start until 8:30 am. I notice that I totally forget to pay attention to the time here. Today, around 5 pm, I looked at the time for the second time. The same thing happens to all pilgrims here with the weekdays. It is quite cold in the mountains. I was able to enjoy Galicia to the fullest. With fog, wind, cold, many green forests, and rain. In the morning, I was pretty much alone on the way, I sat by a stream for about 20 minutes and not a single pilgrim passed by. This is probably also because I took an alternative route again.
' It rains cats and dogs. ' I had to smile when I thought of our Ajsilu today.
But during the rain, I was able to stay with friendly hippies for a while. We talked to some pilgrims and had a coffee. I felt very close to my older brother Oleg today because the guitar played his favorite song by Metallica.
I am very close to the last big city Sarria. Santiago is about 120 km ahead of me. I will be there in 4 or 5 days. It is not quite imaginable yet that several weeks have passed and on the other hand, I feel like I have been walking to Santiago forever.
Today, for the first time, I'm not stinky, sweaty, and don't need to wash my clothes. A new experience to hike in the cold.
Because of the rain and fascinating nature, I left my walking stick somewhere while stacking stones and forgot Fiona's folding bowl. But we had a good meal and are here warm and dry.
