Traveling to Poland by Ship

On Wednesday at 12:30 PM, we set sail. It was windy, but the weather was good. The sailor sold me the tickets yesterday. A few days ago, he explained that they only sell tickets a day in advance because you never know what the weather will be like. And if the waves are 20m high, they won't sail. Ah, there's some sailors' yarn. But you can tell a blonde tourist, who is also a landlubber, a story about 20m high waves. After a journey of almost 90 minutes, we arrived in Międzyzdroje on the Polish island of Wolin. The promenade was lined with food stalls, similar to the Dortmund Christmas market. The selection was a bit more limited: ice cream in strange colors, cakes, and pizza. And a stand with half chickens!!! And of course, the weather was different from the Christmas market. And of course, there was no Christmas music playing. At least. Away from the tourist route, we found a nice pizzeria. For 19 Euros, we got pizzas, cold drinks, and two espressos. Definitely different prices than on Usedom. The waitress also hoped to see us again 'tomorrow'. That won't happen. Then it was another 90-minute journey back. Some excited Germans were already waiting for the disembarkation in Ahlbeck long before our first stop. Always fun to watch. I quickly returned to the vacation apartment on my bike. Aunt's bus drivers were all off duty, apparently so were the taxi drivers. But the nice man at the wine bar arranged some kind of taxi. And then, just before 8:00 PM, I went to EDEKA. 'These tourists have all day and then come just before closing time.' They're right.
