Arrived

I'm here - but of course my luggage isn't. That's Hermes for you.

The train rides were very relaxing, I arrived on time. After coffee and cake at Ute and Dietmar's, we headed to the beach. It was windy, the Baltic Sea was very lively. We also visited the swans. Unbelievable. A few days ago, they were so tiny that they were carried on their parents' backs.

The vacation officially started with the first herring sandwich.

This morning, I went shopping and went to the bakery to get the last 'electronic part'. Everything takes a bit longer here. But I'm on vacation. Now I just hope Mr. Hermes shows up with my suitcase.

A quick note about my journey here. Everything went perfectly with the train. My train left at 7:42 am. Since I was ready, I went to the subway around 7:05 am. I was surprised to see that the display boards only mentioned the mask requirement, but none of the four trains were displayed. When I finally looked at the schedule, I was shocked: the first subway to the city center didn't leave until shortly before eight o'clock. In a city with around 600,000 inhabitants!!! Then my phone couldn't make a call to the taxi center at first, but eventually it worked. The taxi arrived after about five minutes. Sunday morning - hardly any traffic. I made it to the train.

I never would have guessed that public transportation starts at 8:00 am on such days. How do essential nurses get to work on these days?
