After over 4 hours of delay, I finally landed in Bangkok. From the airport, I took a taxi to my first accommodation in Lat Krabang. I chose Lat Krabang because it is only 10 minutes away from the airport, and I assumed that I would arrive at 03:50 am in the middle of the night and didn't want to travel further into the city. (1-hour drive)
Lat Krabang is not very touristy, but I didn't mind. I still felt safe, and the Thai people were very friendly.
When I arrived there around 09:00 am, I had to wait until 2:00 pm to check into my room. I had actually booked for one night earlier, but due to my delay, they had canceled my booking.
So, I used the time to figure out what to do next since I had only booked my accommodation until the 18th of February.
I decided to continue traveling to the south.
- My next destination is Phuket. 😁 -
The flights were a bit more expensive, starting from 80 euros to 120 euros, because they were on Sundays.
So, I simply decided to take the bus after doing my research on the internet.🚍 It only cost me 17 euros.🤗
The downside is that I will be on the road for about 11 hours, BUT I will save two birds with one stone because I chose an overnight bus. So, the price includes the journey to Phuket as well as one night's accommodation.👌😁
In Phuket, I decided to stay in the Patong Beach area, which is very touristy and known for its parties. I'm excited.🤣
I booked a hostel 100m from the beach for 7 nights so that I can start getting into vacation and relaxation mode.😀
After all my research and bookings, it was finally time for me to check into my room. (Pictures attached)😊
There, I took a few hours to sleep because I couldn't sleep on the plane.🙈
When I woke up around 7:00 pm,
I wanted to explore the neighborhood. The hostel was located on a side street off the main road.
When I left the hostel, I met two other guests, and I ended up spending the evening with them. 😊
Peggy and Bart are from Poland, married, have a 21-year-old son, and live in London. They are taking their first trip outside the EU and planned everything themselves. Their next stop is Chiang Mai, which is in the north of Thailand. I am considering whether I should also go there.🤔 I think it's great that they dared to travel individually and on their own.
(I will attach a picture of the two of them😊)
We went to a cool and laid-back bar together where they played great live music.
Attached pictures:
• As you know from Thailand, there are many food stalls with delicious treats.😅
• The stray dogs couldn't be missed, it made me think of someone who loved the dogs in Thailand very much.😂 ('sarcasm off')
• In the bar, we had some drinks and talked a lot about experiences and travels.😊
When we returned to the hostel, we said goodbye a bit later, wished each other a great time on our further travels, and exchanged contact information. They were very nice and even invited me to visit them in London. Maybe I will visit them sometime.😊
Good night.😊😴💤
