There's not much to say about the four days. We spent about 8 hours in the car every day to cover the 2500 km to Uluru.
The first two days we were more on a dirt road than a regular road. But driving on the single-lane State Route was not a problem because we only encountered about 10 cars a day, and we could simply drive next to the road with the left front and rear wheels.
From the third day on, we were supposed to continue on a different State Route, which is a 400 km shorter route to Alice Springs. Unfortunately, this route is only suitable for cars with all-wheel drive. So we continued on the highway, which was actually two lanes. 😍
We finally arrived at Ayers Rock Campground completely exhausted. We drove through nowhere for four days just to camp in the middle of nowhere.
Only then do you realize how big Australia really is.
