Living the dream

ထုတ်ဝေခဲ့သည်။: 24.11.2018

121 days in Australia. 17 weeks. Four months.

So long ago I last saw my family and friends. It seems like a long time, but for me, it just flew by. Slowly life seems to me to be quite normal here and I can't imagine flying home again.

A lot happened in the last few months.

I was at Lakes entrance with my host family and Clara. Lakes entrance is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. There are long wide beaches where there is no human soul. We enjoyed the sunsets every evening and it was just an unforgettable time.

Then there was the big Footy Final. With a few other exchange students, we watched this in the city at Federation Square. After my team unfortunately lost, we made our way through the city where we met many fans and tourists, even a few Germans. It was a really nice day.

At the end of my holidays we went to the Arthurs Seat, from there you have a view over the whole Port Philipp Bay and also the entrance of the bay.

After the holidays the tennis season started. Since then we haven't lost a single game and I get on really well with my team. There are different game sequences than I am used to in Hamburg but I'm still having so much fun.

The weather is getting better and better and during the school breaks, we're lying in the sun and trying to get teint.

On 14 of October, I changed my host family. Now I live with the Taurullis. Their daughter Grace is in Italy for a year. I have three little guest siblings, Sofia (9 years old) and the twins Amelia and Gabrielle (12 years old). I really enjoy going to the park or to the playground with them, often we also take the two dogs with us.

Every evening we're eating pasta made by my host dad, Marcello, himself. Very tasty!

One weekend I went with my Swiss girl Lea and her host family to Healesville. We visited an old village and we wnt to the Healesville Sanctuary where native Australian animals are living. There I saw a koala for the first time in real.

After a long time waiting the day of the Taylor Swift concert was there. October 26th.

Luíza and I got one of the last tickets. The concert was incredible. The whole Marvel stadium was filled to capacity. That means 53 thousand people. This concert was an absolute highlight and I am so happy to have been there. Taylor Swift is really good live, it was just soo good.

On November 3rd my little host sister Sofia had a gymnastics competition in Geelong. After this was over I met Erik, a German boy who lives there. I flew to Melbourne with him, so I already knew him. He and his host father showed me Geelong. It was nice talking to him and seeing him again.

With my new host family, I get along really well and I feel very loved there. One day we went to Werribee Zoo where we went on safari. The day was very hot. After we spent the day at the Zoo we ate Italian ice cream. According to my guest father the best ice cream in the world :)

We all just finished our Exams and now we can totally relax and prepare for our summer holidays. The weather's getting warmer, too. I very much enjoy my nearly every day visits to our Doncaster shopping centre with Lea or the little trips with the other exchange students.

The next weeks will be very exciting, we have holidays and there are many excursions and trips planned.

Overall I'm so happy and thankful to be here and I'm definitely living my dream.
