From Puerto Natales, I took a bus to Punta Arenas and then a plane to Puerto Montt. Puerto Montt itself was not beautiful at all, but in the surrounding area, you can take tours to volcanoes, lakes, and charming little towns. However, since the weather was incredibly bad and it was raining constantly, I simply stayed in my cozy accommodation to recover from the last trekking tour.
Then, I continued to Pucon in the Chilean Lake District. Originally, I wanted to climb the active Villarica volcano here, but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. But that wasn't a big deal. On the first day, I went on a strenuous but beautiful hike in Huerquehue. For 7 km, it was all uphill through the forest and past waterfalls to several lakes. The path was very muddy due to all the rain, and on the way back, there was even a slight thunderstorm. The next day, I had enough of hiking and the rain, so I decided to drive to the Termas Geometricas hot springs, which were 2 hours away. It was a wise decision. The hot springs are beautifully located on the mountain with waterfalls and a tropical atmosphere, and with pools as hot as 43 degrees, it was a dream come true.
