Just yesterday I said that I would only ride on paved roads. Today I did the exact opposite. I did almost half of the route on gravel paths and unpaved roads. But the surface was very different; it was wet in places, but always sandy or gravelly. It was really fun and I still feel as fit as a fiddle today after more than 100 kilometers on the eBike.

After more than 45 kilometers, mostly on federal roads, I arrived in Ayamonte in time to catch the ferry. However, I didn't have to rush. There was a technical problem and they couldn't raise the ramp. So we left 20 minutes late.

The journey only took about 15 minutes and I had already arrived in Portugal. Since I was early, I took it easy and took a few photos of the beautiful promenade.

From here on, I'll be riding mostly on the EV-1, where EV stands for Euro-Velo. I'll probably spend many more hundreds of kilometers on it, as it will then go all the way up the Atlantic and even further.

After that I had another nice encounter. Two Germans, called Ulrike and Josef. Shortly after that we met again in Tavira and I'm looking forward to more encounters, because their path is the same as mine. I was allowed to take a photo of the nice couple, which you can also find in the blog.

From here, many memories came flooding back to me, as we spent our family vacation here about 6 years ago. Back then, no one would have dreamed that I would one day visit this area by bike.

I had noted down a place to stay, but hadn't booked it. And of course no one was there, but a neighbor was helpful enough to look for the landlady. She was here less than five minutes later and I could choose from three rooms, as I was the only guest today.

In Fuseta, a few kilometers from my destination, I couldn't resist a nice fish restaurant and so I stopped for a bite to eat, an early dinner that I really enjoyed and so I'm still full now - one large beer is enough for me.

But I think that only circular asphalt roads are possible. Here today is exactly the opposite of this. In fact, the middle of the route takes you along grave and earth roads. But the floor was very different: sometimes it was humid, always sandy or wet. It was very fun and even today, after more than 100 kilometers on the eBike, I still felt completely normal.

After more than 45 kilometers, the main part, via federal roads, arrived in Ayamonte quickly to take the ferry. Just don't worry, squeeze it. There was a technical problem and we couldn't get off the ramp. So we sing 20 minutes later.

The trip only lasted 15 minutes and I arrived in Portugal. How calmly I walked for a while and took some photos of the beautiful maritime walkway.

From now on we travel mainly in EV-1, where EV means Euro-Velo. He probably recorded tens of kilometers on it because it led to the Atlantic and beyond.

After that you'll soon meet another beautiful person. The Germans called Ulrike and Josef. A little later we met in Tavira and expected new encounters because the route is just mine. Let me take a photo of the cute couple who you could also find on the blog.

From here we have had many memories because we spent our family vacations here together for about 6 years. Certainly then we have the imaginary places visiting this area by bike.

Accommodation booked but not booked. And, presumably, I hadn't yet guided anyone, but one was very helpful and looked for the house. Less than 5 minutes later she was here and could choose between 3 rooms because today the only one was housed.

In Fuseta, a few kilometers from my destination, I couldn't resist a good fishing restaurant, because before eating, at night, something very tasty and yet I still have it: one big beer is enough for me.
