Today was Canada Day :-)
We wanted to give the girls a hiking break and drove from Clearwater to Kamloops in the BC Wildlife Park, which is about 1.5 hours away. Surprisingly, the park was relatively empty and we were able to stroll through and look at the animals in a relaxed manner.
At the beginning, the girls did a quiz about the 'Flying Squirrel' and as a reward, they received a pin.
Then we learned about a snake named Chiara and were allowed to touch her.
The park itself has only native animals from British Columbia. We saw Grizzly Bears, Black Bears, and Kermode Bears, a subspecies of Black Bears, and during feeding, we also learned something about the differences. Additionally, there were Arctic Wolves, a Lynx, Bighorn Sheeps, and other animals. We only did not see the Puma and the Red Fox.
Conclusion: We really liked the park and it offered opportunities to learn more about the animals.
