Exploring the North of Big Island

The plans for today are completely thrown off in the morning as the weather is not showing its best side. We actually want to search for a hiking trail to one of the best snorkeling spots on the island in the south, but the horizon there is covered with thick clouds, so we spontaneously decide to continue driving to the north, where we are greeted by bright sunshine. After some initial difficulties, we find a beautiful small bay and after not even a minute in the water, we encounter the first sea turtle, a rather large specimen, we guess it's a grandmother! :D It's a pity that we decided to take the underwater camera only on the second round today, where, of course, such a specimen is no longer available for a snapshot. But that's okay, these impressions are stored in our minds for a long time.

Further up north, we visit a second snorkeling spot, where there are many fish to observe, and here we spend a beautiful afternoon!

On the way back, we view the sunset from a beach, not as private as yesterday at Turtles Beach, but still unique! And so, after an eventful day, we return home where it has been raining all day, but we haven't noticed anything at all. If only we could sometimes escape the rain so easily at home...
