2020 - the Corona year

Two "girls", like us - Manuela and me, Brigitte, have known each other for many years and besides job and family, traveling has become a passion.

It's the year 2020. It's summer and the world is closed! The COVID-19 virus, called Corona for short, has the world in its grip. Lockdown in every country on earth. We are forced to stay at home, more or less voluntarily. Our trip to the USA is also canceled and I celebrate my 60th birthday at home. So even more the travel bug, the wanderlust, the desire to travel and discover the world seizes us. Ok, we are still young 😜 and the working world still has a few years on us! I don't even know how we came up with this crazy idea. The idea of daring something that doesn't conform to the norm. Adventure instead of retirement home, traveling instead of walker - simply LIVING! So off to the somewhat different retirement!

Ok, the start date is still a long way off and health must also play along. But for days now, a thought has been circling in our heads. To cancel the apartment, wave goodbye to Switzerland, pack belongings in a motorhome, and discover the world. So we still have eight years for the preparation. Should be enough. 😜 We simply need some certainty. The casualness of youth... well, that was a few days ago!

In the past, we have already traveled to several countries, road trips, from sight to sight and always beach holidays. Relaxation is also a must 😜.

The idea of starting such an adventure after retirement may remain just an idea. It takes a lot of courage, health must be in place, and of course, you need the money. Dreams keep one young, so we stick to a motto: YOLO - you only live once!

It will be about eight more years until then. Hopefully, we can still enjoy a few more trips until then, and so I have the opportunity to practice blogging here.
