Just a quick note about last night: it didn't go bad. The only thing that was bad was that I couldn't finish the second Mojito.

The first photos show the interior of the microbus that we took to Jinotepe today. It was a piece of junk, unbelievable, there was nothing that wasn't broken, patched up, replaced with an unusual spare part, or simply no longer existent. When the driver wanted to get out, he had to roll down the window, reach through and then operate the door handle from the outside. The glove compartment was secured with a padlock. That's actually eco-friendly, not buying a new car every year. And the owner obviously also believed in waste separation. Because above the rear windows, written with a black marker on the paint, it said: 'Throw your garbage out of the window.'

But the most beautiful thing today was the big turtle on the beach. Normally, the females come for egg-laying in the evening or at night, but not during the day. And not on this beach. This one had managed to crawl up the sand - obviously exhausted. She paddled with her hind legs to dig a hole for the eggs. Not a good spot, because the beach is miles long and she chooses one only 500 meters away from the beach huts. So far, she hadn't been discovered by anyone except us and a young man. Turtle eggs are a delicacy, often stolen and sold expensively. Which is officially prohibited. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the turtle babies.

Faszinierend, dieses Interieur, der Besitzer ist bestimmt sehr stolz! Viel Glück für die Schildkröte und ihren Nachwuchs!
