Roof 12 - Hanoi

Good morning Hanoi… yesterday we explored this chaotic city on our own and actually saw the most important points. Unfortunately, the Literature Temple is still closed. We have booked a city tour for today to find out a few more special features. The tour with 6 participants and 3! Unfortunately, guiding was not our thing at all. The 3 students really tried, but they didn't know where to go with us and only explained most things when asked. The street food tour in the evening was very nice, but the much praised Vietnamese food is rather unspectacular, no special spices. There is always Pho 🍜, i.e. soup with rice noodles, everywhere. Banh mi, the filled baguettes, are delicious if you find a good stand. The desserts are just very sweet and it's not as cheap as you think, at least not in Hanoi. Small bottled beer usually 1.50 euros, pho on the side of the road 3 euros, coffee 2 euros, taxi ride 1 euro per minute. But we still have many corners of Vietnam ahead of us and are looking forward to discovering the most beautiful places. Tomorrow we're going to Halong Bay with an overnight stay on the ship 🛳️
