On Tuesday, we finally found our way out of Auckland. We headed north along the east coast in a well-equipped campervan. The first stop was Orewa, where we finally got to go kitesurfing. So I tried my luck on the water while Robin slept in the sun. However, I only managed to ride properly in one direction, which took me about 1.5 km down the beach. After many attempts, I gave up and walked back.
On Wednesday, we were at Pakiri beach. It was quite windy and there were huge waves. Diving through the waves, you can feel the immense power of the water. But it was incredibly fun to play in the waves.
Today, it started drizzling during breakfast. By noon, it was raining heavily. We decided to stay in the car and wait, sleep a bit, and continue later. However, I left the lights on, so the car wouldn't start when we tried to start it. Luckily, someone stopped to give us a jump start. Now we have arrived in Russel. It's a small, cute town by the sea. We had a cloudy sunset, which still looked incredibly beautiful.
