Spa Day... it was sensational.

After sleeping a little longer today, probably still feeling the effects of the flight, we had a delicious breakfast. Eggs Benedict style. For those who don't know, it's eggs with bacon and hollandaise sauce. We also had fresh smoothies and a fruit plate.

Today we wanted to go snorkeling and to the spa area. But snorkeling didn't happen after we got an appointment for a wellness massage at 1pm. We chose a massage called: love with 2.

It included a flower foot bath, a full body massage, a foot reflexology treatment, and a bathing ceremony. The whole thing was supposed to last 2.5 hours and cost 650,000 IDR (about 39€) for two people.

So we spent the first 1.5 hours at the beach and then went to the spa.

We were greeted with two chairs, each with a bowl filled with lukewarm water and flowers. Our masseuses used salts for foot peeling and a type of soap cream to wash and massage our feet.

Then we went to the actual massage room. We had to undress our upper body and put on a black panties. The panties were one size fits all, and those who know Rainer probably have some images in their heads 🤣. Let's leave it at that... In the background, there was light Balinese relaxation music playing, accompanied by the typical incense sticks. Simply wonderful. So we lay down on the massage tables and were massaged from head to toe. At some points, it felt like they were standing on our backs. When lying on the massage table, the head is in an opening to allow for better breathing. Exactly underneath this hole was a bowl with a red flower surrounded by palm leaves. It looked really beautiful and typical Balinese.

I remember thinking during the massage; if there was a World Championship for massages, these girls would definitely be at the top. I have received many massages, but this one was sensational. We completely relaxed and forgot about everything around us. We even fell asleep for a moment. Pure relaxation. The whole thing lasted about 1 hour, then came a foot reflexology treatment. And I can only rave about it. I think I can claim to have some knowledge about feet, at least some people claim that 🤣. This foot reflexology treatment was different from the one I learned, it was much better. Pure enjoyment. Unfortunately, it ended after 50 minutes.

But what came next was the highlight.

A round bathtub filled with water and flowers. Overflowing with flower petals. We were allowed to enjoy the ceremony for 30 minutes. We stepped into the tub and were covered in flowers up to our necks. A heavenly scent from the incense sticks filled the air, and my masseuse opened a curtain that allowed us to look out over the sea. It was a dream that should never end. Pure relaxation. The water was not very warm, pleasantly cool. It matched the weather outside.

While we were lying in the bathtub, Yeni passed by, saw us, and was excited that we had a "Balinese Massage". She took a photo of us after asking and was thrilled to see us like that. I had no problem with my nudity because I was completely covered in flowers. Finally, she said goodbye and we continued to enjoy our ceremony. We actually didn't want to leave the tub, but as they say... all good things must come to an end.

And so our unforgettable Spa Day ended. But it will definitely not be our last one here in Bali. 🦶🏼🇮🇩❤️
