Tall palm trees, sultry 35 degrees, blazing sun! It was as if I had traveled to a completely new country.
In the morning, I joined a larger group of backpackers, hopped on a scooter, and drove to the touristy north. A picturesque setting welcomed us. The sandy beaches were visited by only a few tourists, as the season was almost over. Only a few dared to voluntarily go to Goa in extremely high temperatures. We enjoyed the sun and strolled past countless beach bars. The sea provided some refreshment from time to time, but it shouldn't have been a single degree warmer.
In the afternoon, we left the beach and took a dirt path to the interior of the country, to a wonderful tree with hanging roots that formed the center of the local hippie community. You had to follow the smell of burning marijuana for only 2 KM to find it. People were smoking, meditating, and smoking again. While observing the spectacle, we learned that the actual guru of the tree unfortunately cannot be present at the moment because he is in prison. Drunk, he insulted and attacked locals and therefore sends his representative from Holland.
In the evening, we had a damn delicious vegan ice cream, which was prepared right in front of our eyes on a -30 degree cold plate.
