Alarm clock at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast a little later, as the K's don't get out of bed so quickly... And just a small breakfast with coffee and torta from la nonna of the house.
Then we drive to the weekly market in Pontedera and buy all sorts of little things (souvenirs, socks, charging cables, bulletproof glass and stuff like that) until the heat becomes unbearable, then we go back to the quarters.
Naturally a snack, this time even in the large variety: tomato mozzarella, salami finocchio, white beans, white bread, turkey fillet with fried zucchini, Birra Moretti e Chianti Classico.
The discussions about where to have dinner don't lead to a decision, so we take a nap and go to the pool . And read a bit, go to the pool, then sleep a bit and go back to the pool.
For dinner as always before eight, this time in the trattoria “Al Pachino” in San Gervasio .
Really nice here, lots of English people and also noisy Dutch children. The food is fantastic. I had Ravioli agli Sciampi con pomodorini e timo, why do I always have all these animals staring at me?
Then there is the Maialino da latte cotto, which is lightly cooked on its own, “Patata ripiena di Patata affumicata” with grana and oil. Very, very fine, but not enough juice and therefore a somewhat dry affair. The table wine is organic wine from Spezieri 2016 from Col d'Orcia. Lisa has the Bambini menu: Penne Bianco con burro e parmigiano, Roastbeef con patatine fritte, Fanta.
At home we have grappa and at midnight the lights go out and we go to bed.
