Lucca is our insider tip in Tuscany. We like it so much that we spend two days in this beautiful city.
There is a lot to see in the old town.
Many churches, each one more beautiful than the other.
Great shops and pubs.
Beautiful brick buildings.
The Piazza Anfiteatro.
The houses are built in a circle.
There is so much to discover.
Then we discover the Guinigi Tower, famous for its 7 oak trees planted on the roof.
It goes up high. First into a kind of staircase, then into an iron staircase. The tower is hollow except for the staircase.
Looking up.
The last floor before the roof.
This is the way out.
I am speechless up there.
The oaks are planted in a kind of planter box.
I am impressed.
The view is fantastic.
A 360-degree panorama.
The area at the top is maybe 7x7m.
In the evening, we go back to the old town.
Everything is decorated and illuminated for Christmas.
A gospel choir sings, oh happy day.
It's really busy here 🎄🎄🎄
Then we go to this quaint pub for dinner.
Lucca is simply beautiful, we are very impressed!
