Day 33, from Efrim to Svilengrad.
In the morning, the owner of the house drove us back to the mountain for 5 Bulgarian Lev after breakfast, where we could continue our hiking route. After the hardships of the past few days and temperatures over 30°C, we didn't want to walk for such a long time today. The path led us again through dense oak forests along a forest road to a very old cultural site: 'the deaf stones', from the Bronze Age with a wonderful energy. Afterwards, we walked another 2 km to reach an asphalt road in an attempt to hitchhike to the valley or the next village. After several cars didn't stop, we walked downhill on the road towards the village! After about 3 km, a very nice Mercedes driver finally stopped and took us about 25 km to Ljubimez and even brought us to the right bus stop in Svilengrad! The next bus arrived 30 minutes later, and we were already at our accommodation by 1pm.
