Moving and excursions in HCMC

Diterbitkan: 14.05.2024

We landed again and unfortunately had to leave the apartment that we moved into as quickly as possible after our cockroach fiasco. We found a cheaper room that was also closer to Laura's workplace.

So we packed our seven things, which were actually just two suitcases and three backpacks, said goodbye to our roof terrace with a rather European breakfast and off we went...

Since a lot has happened in the last few weeks, we decided to spend two weekends in Saigon for the first time and continued to explore the area. During this time, it got hotter and hotter, our moods fluctuated a little, but we also made some really great discoveries. For example, we found the FIRST park in HCMC where you could sit down. It took two months, but then we had grass between our toes for the first time, people around us playing football and flying kites. Sounds stupid, but it was really crazy. HCMC is an incredibly loud, crowded and now even hotter city... This park, which we were only in for one afternoon, gave us a great feeling and made me a little homesick.

We also visited a large temple complex, the war museum, the Ben Tranh market again, played darts in a bar, Laura attended two games nights in a games bar and so on...

Apart from that, after two months I decided to fill my time with a bit of "work" again. I got a bit bored and so I took the opportunity to teach a girl who up to that point didn't speak a word of German. She can speak Vietnamese, a little English and would like to learn German.

Yeah, that's how a new project began. :) And it's sooooo much fun. Although I didn't think I could teach another person a language with my limited knowledge of German, there's still Laura. She provides me with German materials and ideas. ;)
