Today was our last day in Knysna. Tomorrow we go to Addo Elephant Park. We found great accommodation nearby and will stay there until Sunday, do a bit of a safari and hopefully see a lot of animals 🐘🐒🦓🦒🦛🦏🐆🦁🦬🦌 We're really looking forward to it 🤩
Today we used the time again to wash everything and pack it again. Around midday we drove to the waterfront and had a great lunch. Since Knysna is known for its oysters, we had a few variations today.
Oyster 🦪:
- gratinated with Gorgonzola
- gratinated with chilli mayo and cheese
- as ceviche
- as a shot with tequila and tomato sauce
- very classic
That was something completely different. Afterwards there was baby calamari and baked nachos 🤤 Anni was also super happy with her spaghetti with tomato sauce and of course parmesan 😄
We then strolled along the waterfront a bit, looked at the little shops and of course had some ice cream🍦
Then we finally went to the beach 🌊🐚Really impressive 🤩 Several kilometers of the finest sandy beach and we were alone. The sand was like powdered sugar, the wind was strong and the sea was rough and freezing cold 🥶 (13 degrees). There were lots of jellyfish and pieces of coral on the beach. The sand glittered in the sunlight like 1,000 small diamonds. A fantastic sight and so decelerating 😌
The day ended with a beautiful sunset 🌅 which we could see from Thesen Island. We also had dinner there. The really great thing here is that many of the restaurants on site also have a playground. That was of course another highlight for Anni.
In the evening the children went into the free-standing bathtub in the bedroom of our accommodation with a view of the city lights ✨
