Petra:
Today was quite eventful, both in terms of the route and the weather. It was warm again, but also cloudy with some wind. First, we cycled through a rural area and then took a short ferry ride towards Rotterdam. Now, I'm not a fan of big cities, but the bike-friendly infrastructure made it a bit less stressful. We had lunch at the Erasmus Bridge and then cycled through the city towards Hoek van Holland. In the first half of the day, we passed through an area with many windmills, probably some kind of 'museum'. I found that very romantic. Those who know me, know that I'm a big fan of windmills. After checking into our accommodation, we went for another fish sandwich and took a short trip to the beach. This marks the end of the Rhine Cycle Route, and tomorrow we will continue along the North Sea.
