1 March Addendum.
Our alarm went off at 5:30. We had decided to watch the sunrise from a lookout where we could see Uluru and Kata Tjuta.
During the half-hour drive, the sky began to turn red and orange. When we arrived, there were already three tour buses and several cars in the parking lot, and the platform was crowded. But the view was truly fantastic. Uluru and the sky above it seemed to glow, and Kata Tjuta appeared dark red in the light of the rising sun. As the sun rose to the left of Uluru over the horizon, it only took minutes for it to reach a high position.
Welcoming our last day in the Outback like this was beautiful. A true natural spectacle.
After a 5-hour drive, we were back in Alice Springs and strolled around the city, which was nothing special after admiring the beautiful nature in the National Park.
We spent the rest of the day quite tired at the campsite pool :)
