After the landing at Vernadsky Station was not possible, the ship headed to Damoy Point. There are also research facilities located there, but they are currently not occupied. The journey there was exciting. The sea ice was pushing closer and closer together, and the ship was making its way through. I didn't expect to experience situations that were not feasible before the trip. I am pleasantly surprised.
Damoy Point is a beautiful bay with very beautiful icebergs made of glacier ice. The blue color that arises from the refraction of light is truly unique. You might think someone has installed indirect lighting in the iceberg.
Tomorrow we will celebrate Christmas Eve on board the ship. After that, we will return to Punta Arenas, where we will continue our tour in Patagonia.
