Bye bye New York, hello Chile

We got up at 4:30 am to catch our 9:00 am flight. But we could have saved ourselves the early wake-up call. We arrived at the airport super punctual at 6:00 am, but it was completely unnecessary.

First, we sat around for 3 hours because the crew didn't show up, then we were told that we needed a return flight ticket, which we didn't have, in order to enter Chile. So I was a bit stressed out during the entire flight. Then we had to transfer in Panama. We arrived from the plane at 6:15 pm and on the boarding pass that was handed to us, it said: Boarding starts at 6:05 pm. So we ran about 2 km with our luggage, only to be the last ones to board the plane. And just when we were sitting on our seats all sweaty, an announcement came that we had to wait 40 more minutes due to air traffic control problems. Finally, when we arrived in Chile, everything went smoothly. The border officer didn't care about our onward flight at all and quickly stamped our passports without asking a single question.

We were happily at our friends' place at 6 am and fell into bed.
