Hello,
phew!!! Today was the most exhausting day of my trip!
I already knew beforehand that it would be difficult to get back from Spain to France. But I didn't expect it to be sooooo difficult 😂
First of all, yes! I arrived.
After a relaxing morning, I started walking to ask a taxi driver how much a ride would cost. Unfortunately, there was no taxi at the collection point at 9 o'clock in the morning, so I started walking in the direction of my destination. It's about 71 km away. On a whim, I found a piece of cardboard and a pen to look for a ride on the road. Unfortunately, without success. After 1 1/2 hours we gave up.
My next brilliant idea was to walk in the direction of the hospital, because there are always too many taxis waiting there. That's how it is in Germany, but not in Spain, at least not in Pamplona 😅
There was only one taxi driver standing there who didn't want to drive us...
If no one wants to give us a ride, we have to walk a bit, I thought. It's 17 km to the next "pilgrim village".
On the way, I met a nice old Spaniard who wanted to help me. Unfortunately, there were slight communication problems 🤣🤭
In the end, I ended up in a residential area and met a Spanish woman who took me to her home and then drove me to my destination with her fiance! 😅
The ride was very nice and I am very grateful to them. Of course, I also gave them money. The ride took about 2 hours, despite the short distance. The route was very winding and we could only make slow progress!
Happy and satisfied, we enjoyed our last pilgrim meal today and are already in bed!
Tomorrow we will leave for Paris by train at 13:00, stay with Julia for a night, and arrive in Göttingen the day after tomorrow at 15:00.
Until tomorrow.... 🙋♀️🐕
