Individual lessons

Diterbitkan: 18.04.2017

The placement test revealed it. There is not much Spanish available. All the others are way better - at least I think so. In any case, they chat away, I can hardly believe that they are attending a course.

There were three of us for the test. I submitted the test first, it was more than half empty anyway. Then there are three students, so six in total. And if I paid attention correctly, three professors. Convenient situation for me: individual lessons. However, it's tougher than I thought. It really wears you out. No fifty-fifty chance of not getting through. Repeat verbs: regular -er, -ir, -ar, irregular, reflexive, etc.

At noon, we went home, almuerzo. After lunch, back to school. My private teacher took all the new students and two old hands for a tour of the neighborhood. It was mainly about showing the shopping and dining options. For me, it was also about organizing a SIM card. Since Alessandra from SaoPaolo and the student from Oregon also needed one, and Rosi, an experienced student from Brazil, had already dealt with the matter, I could sort of go along with it. Now I have one and this morning I did a test run with my Andi to see if it works. Strange, but somehow it does. Just use the old number for WhatsApp messages. Telefonieren, that's more complicated. Nobody needs it.

The two old hands, Rosi and David from California, led Alessandra and me to the old town of Quito. Actually, to the place I had already been on Sunday. They showed us two fantastically beautiful options for eating. One of them is above the roofs of Quito. But since it rained, I will come back here later to take photos. We just had a little something to eat there. Oh yeah: Rosi is a true selfie queen. Selfies alone, as a pair, with all four of us, photos of Quito and photos of the restaurant. She later sent them to the WhatsApp group she organized. It kept beeping for a long time after the light in my room was off.
