We divided the last section of the route to Travemünde into 2 parts and followed the cycling route Alte Salzstraße, which leads from Lüneburg to Lübeck and Travemünde. The signage here is impeccable, if not exemplary, only partially deviating from the route published on the website of the cycle path. But these are variations that are okay.
First, we leave Lüneburg to the ship lift on the Elbe-Seitenkanal, then through actually flat land, cross the Elbe at Lauenburg and then there is another canal, the Elbe-Lübeck-Kanal. This one is apparently a bit older and therefore more scenic.
So we reach Mölln in the afternoon and after an unsuccessful attempt to go swimming (free public swimming pool at the lake - closed due to repair work on the jetty: apparently, you can't write something like that on the website - big minus point!!), we take a look at the city. Church from the 12th century, lots of old brick/clinker, and it's the Eulenspiegel city, as there is a memorial/gravestone here.
Once again, we treated ourselves to a hotel. If you think everything is flat up here in the north, you can thank the local end moraines wholeheartedly! ;-)
