Packed, checked out and walked to the train station. Took the Regio RS3 to Oldenburg. We even catch the earlier connection and are lucky, because the following trains are cancelled due to a broken signal box.
The next train goes from Oldenburg to Sande, from Sande to Wittmund and then we continue from there by bus to Harlesiel Anleger. 🌞🚝🚌
Here in Carolinensiehl we checked in to the room and immediately set off through the villages. The village Harlesiel seems like a model village to us. Almost all holiday apartments/houses. Everything closed, many empty. In contrast, Carolinensiehl is lively and very pretty.
Bought the tickets for tomorrow's excursion at the harbor.
Tomorrow's plan is to take the ferry to Wangerooge in the morning.🛳️

Everything packed again, plans made, breakfasted and there we go towards the train!
Luckily our hotel is not even a kilometer from the station.
Arrived there, bought tickets and headed to the platform, the earlier train to Oldenburg is arriving and since we have nothing more to do in Bremen, we take this one...
What a stroke of luck that was! The next train (our original one) couldn't depart anymore because of a broken 'Stellwerk' (signal box)!!! We on the other hand, and because everything went smoothly from then on, we arrive in Harlesiel/Carolinesiel easily and happily. (3 times train and 1 time bus! Yes, yes)
Then, because we were a little early, we had a coffee on the beautiful village square with a view of the museum harbor.
Our room is tip-top and after unpacking we head to the harbor to buy tickets for tomorrow's ferry.
Then the same beautiful way back (it must be said that Harlesiel is really a model village, really only holiday homes and no normal villagers anymore, on the other hand Carolinesiel is beautiful!) to have a refreshing beer on the local terrace! This is Jever land! So it will be... exactly a Jever beer from the tap, hmmmmm
We eat very tasty fish in the smokehouse and later play another round of Rummikub.
See you tomorrow!
