From Limoges to Bordeaux, day 15

Tuesday, August 1, 2023, Day 15, today we started our third week and we are very happy that we have chosen another day off and a train day, especially since we will be working from home office tomorrow and wanted to have an overnight stay tonight where we would like to stay for two days. A beautiful city was the idea. Limoges would have been a possibility, but the weather conditions made Limoges less attractive, severe weather warning‼️ so we actually decided to drive towards the sun, to avoid the bad weather, and we got back on the train with our bikes and went to Bordeaux. what a brilliant decision, got off in Bordeaux, summer again, warm, hardly any wind, wonderful. From here we can easily continue cycling towards the Spanish border after our home office day tomorrow. before that, my rear wheel needs to be repaired, the broken spoke is still not fixed. At first, I thought that should not be a problem in Bordeaux, and that's true, because there are plenty of bike shops here. Then this afternoon we visited four bike shops, but they all declined because the belt drive is too tricky for them, it requires special tools. We asked around in Bordeaux and have an appointment with a bicycle repair shop tomorrow at 11:00, which allegedly can fix it. we will keep you updated on what happened to my rear wheel.

One last word for today: the people in France have our utmost respect, we mentioned this once before on one of the previous days, the French are very friendly and polite people, they are not loud, even in city traffic (we are in Bordeaux now and have a shock of city traffic after 800 km of country roads) they rarely use the horn, they are also very considerate towards pedestrians and cyclists. We really enjoy it here and appreciate the friendly people.
