Hello, we just got a warning on our cell phone that a severe storm is approaching in the Dryden and Vermilion Bay area, right in front of us. The Canadian government is warning of a tornado, heavy hail and thunderstorms with heavy rain. People are advised to get to safety and leave their vehicles. We didn't do that, but we parked our camper under a large shed and waited. It is important that large hailstones do not smash our solar panels on the roof. Tornadoes are much more common in Canada than in Germany.
A guy just came and wanted to send us away from the relatively safe place because we were "not allowed to camp" there. With "usually friendly words" I quickly sent this person away.
We survived the storm, but we don't know if and where there was a tornado. We didn't reach our original overnight destination, but are now standing in the Walmart parking lot in Dryden.
