This morning we took an old gold miner's train from the Freshwater Train Station through the jungle to Kuranda.
It was our daughter's first train ride and she was more than thrilled.
There were many tunnels and very old bridges to cross, and we passed by the Barron Waterfalls.
At the end of the journey, we got off at a beautiful old train station in Kuranda to explore an ancient Aboriginal village.
Didgeridoo sounds from the locals could be heard on every corner.
After several local markets, we went to the Butterfly Sanctuary and Anna was delighted as she pointed to and fro among thousands of colorful butterflies.
Dad treated himself to a great hat, and then it was time to take a cable car above the jungle canopy towards civilization.
