Day 48 Campingplatz Rovies Euboea Day of Contemplation

Diterbitkan: 30.07.2019

Washing machine? Out of order! Somehow no one cares. Result: Today I have to do hand washing. Bed linen, towels and odds and ends. Hallelujah, I'm telling you. Well, that's how it is in a foreign country, not everything is easy all the time. In between, I baked an almond banana cake. You can already see that today is all about being a housewife. While downloading pictures, we came across Burki's pictures from his hospital stay again. That inevitably contributed to my contemplation. He could hardly move there, couldn't ring the bell, couldn't bring a cup to his mouth, let alone eat alone. So much has happened in the last 10 months. It's not good for him yet. The discomforts, which actually came after about 6 weeks, and the feeling of being trapped are still bothering him a lot. The mobility in his shoulder and arm area is still challenging for him. In the morning, he needs a long warm-up time because everything is stiff.

But despite everything, I would like to say thank you again. Thank you for how it has turned out so far. Thank you for making it possible to live the way we are currently living.

For me, it is sometimes quite difficult to watch. Ultimately, to accept it as it is. It is a long way, and we are walking it together. With Burki's permission, today I am posting a few before-and-after pictures. Then I think you can understand my contemplation.

Here on the road, I often realize how important family and friends are to me. How much I enjoy having contact with the children, grandchildren, or my mom and knowing that they are doing well. Also, not to be taken for granted.
