With the scorching heat, I continued on in the morning and wanted to arrive in Verona by tonight. After 35 kilometers, I arrived in Brescia and took the time to stroll through the old town. I could have easily stayed here longer! The stage mostly led me along busy roads again, but at least it went quickly.
By 4 p.m., I was already in Verona and impressed by the 'camping site' I had chosen today. It is located right in the old castle ruins of Verona, with a brilliant view over the entire city! The tents were allowed to be set up in the middle of a winding ruin under grapevines, and the price was also absolutely reasonable.
I spent the whole afternoon and evening in Verona, which in hindsight is one of the most beautiful Italian cities for me! Apart from the story of Romeo and Juliet, which is admittedly quite exploited for tourists here, there is something to discover in every corner, from old city walls to winding alleys to the arena. It wasn't until sunset that I returned to the campsite and was able to cook my classic stew above the rooftops of the city. I even found time to write postcards.
