Day 3 - The 'pink' granite coast, continue on the GR 34

Нийтэлсэн: 31.08.2020

Today the other food provider should see the tourist route (marked in orange) at the granite cliffs.

If anyone still remembers... I hiked and hiked and hiked and just couldn't find it... the pink granite cliffs. Because I had already walked past them. Because 'pink' is really something else.... Well, today I knew what I had to look for ;)

So today I packed the backpack (equipment for 2 world wars) in the morning and off we went to the starting point at the church. This time I didn't need to drive around the church multiple times to find the 'parking lot' (gravel area between 2 roads...) and no drunk Frenchman from the market had to explain to me that he had no idea what I was talking about (they never do here anyway...). No, THIS time I found the parking lot directly (weird, why did it take me so long last time?!?).

The starting point

So I threw the tea sausage out of the car and off we went.

Unfortunately, not everything was different from last time. I couldn't find the beginning of the route right away again, and the other food provider has the same good sense of direction as I do, so we eventually gave up on following the map.

The first destination was the sculpture garden (worth seeing, but not necessary - but it's also on the way).

Afterwards, we head towards the sea. Not along the marked route, but still beautiful.

My dried up home and hydrangeas grow like weeds here...

Fully loaded...

The road should lead to the sea. Fortunately, it did. At a bay that is always dried up when I arrive... and low tide doesn't look nice when half the harbor is dry. So only photos without boats on sand...

A tea sausage also likes the wind on its nose

If you go around the bay, you quickly reach the outskirts of the granite cliffs.

So this is not really pink ?!?

The water can be seen everywhere here...

This is the main tourist area here, so masks are mandatory. It's not quite as cool when hiking, and if it's uphill, you're either on the verge of suffocating or your sunglasses fog up so much that you just walk blind into other tourists. With a tea sausage, excited due to the water, as always turning into a sled dog, it can really become quite a feat.... but let's stop complaining. The weather was sensational. The path was crowded (don't they all have to work?).

The famous lighthouse

Anyway, we snaked along the coast for about 10 km with masks.

Break
This is the bay where we had dinner last night, do you remember?

Until the path started to feel very unfamiliar. Slowly, the beach in front of our vacation home came into view again, so it quickly became clear: we walked too far. Before we reached the vacation home without a car, we turned onto the highway (which happens here often) and started looking for the car. As always (see trip 2018), the return trip fulfilled all criteria: a)highway b)uphill c)blazing sun (I don't think I've ever come back to the car any other way...).

Flowers at the parking lot

On the way back, we stopped briefly in town to have a coffee. Because here you can get latte with liquid salted caramel !!! (no, I'm not pregnant)

I missed it so much

The other food provider was pretty exhausted after the tour and then devoted himself to eye care while the tea sausage and I sorted the photos for the blog.

In the evening we had dinner at home (French bratwurst, I forgot the photo....) and then - today with cider again - we went to the couch and then to bed. Tomorrow, at the request of a single person (I'm innocent), we will have a beach day.

Until then.
