A day at the Lanna Kingdom Elephant Sanctuary, 04.02.2020 (Day 4)

പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു: 04.02.2020

We were picked up by our driver at 09:15 AM and taken to the Lanna Kingdom Sanctuary.

As soon as we got out of the car, we were greeted by the five rescued elephants.

The youngest elephant was bought from a circus at the age of three, two were rescued from a worker farm, and the other two were rescued from a farm where tourists can ride on elephants.

It's really sad to see the damage that these poor animals have suffered from such attractions. One of the elephants had visible damage on its back. It broke from constant riding 😔

After being given some rules of behavior, we went on a hike with the 5 elephants.

Then, we fed them with small bananas before being asked to have lunch.

After a small break, we cut down two banana trees with a machete and fed them to the elephants.

Because the youngest elephant does not drink enough, we prepared a vitamin bomb for him using a mortar and put it in his mouth.

Afterwards, it was time for the elephant bath. It is truly amazing to see a huge elephant lying in the pond, enjoying as you pour water on it and scrub it 😊

All in all, it was a beautiful day!

The five elephants have really ended up in paradise 🐘❤️
