The sentence comes to my mind more often. After having a very relaxed and infinitely beautiful day alone two days ago, which included a two-hour walk on the empty beach, including nude bathing and swinging, yesterday was much more turbulent. While drinking morning iced coffee, Istavan and I found out that we have bed bugs in our room. So we had to pack our things and move to another room that I hadn't even noticed before. There, with the kind help of the owner, I cleaned my things with steam and hopefully killed all the little assholes.
After that, I started talking to Isabell, a Dutch woman who stayed at the hostel for only one night. I invited her to come to the beach with Istavan and me. When we wanted to cool off in the sea after hours of chatting (if it can be called that, the sea is definitely 30 degrees), I stepped on something shitty and sharp after less than 20 seconds. My foot was bleeding like a waterfall and the wound is quite deep. Luckily, it's only on my toe, and I was immediately treated by several very nice people.
Then we went back to the hostel. But there was no time to be annoyed because shortly afterwards, all six roommates gathered around the table and we all got to know each other properly after days, which we all found very nice. I am particularly impressed by Amber and Jay, two Brits with a charming British accent and a good amount of humor and sarcasm. Also Billie, a Californian DJ, who told me a lot about Burning Man (a techno festival near LA) and invited me directly to California.
Many beers later, I grabbed Istavan, Amber, and Jay and hobbled to the beach with them. There, I sat on a big swing on the beach with Amber and everything was just super funny and I was super happy. After that, the four of us lay on the pier, looked at the starry sky, and poured out our hearts to each other.
Today I actually wanted to ride scooters to another beach with Amber and Jay and go to a girl-boy show, but I'm feeling pretty weak today and can't walk properly. That's why I just had dinner with Istavan and read a book. Soon we will ride the scooter to Fisherman's Village to check out a tattoo studio where we might get tattoos. But not a friendship tattoo or something silly like that, we both just enjoy having someone by our side.
