Before heading towards Southern Portugal, we took a trip to Lisbon last week.
Based on our experience, the city is not a major highlight (compared to the big cities we have already visited in our lives 😉). We found "Porto" more interesting in terms of Portugal.
From the city, we drove along the coast towards the tourist towns of 'Estoril' * and 'Cascais' **, which we really liked, then along the N247 directly along the coast (until 'Praia do Guincho') and then back through the mountains to our campsite. A really nice trip.
The following weekend, we experienced a curfew for the first time since the Corona pandemic. However, it was only from 1:00 PM onwards, and we were allowed to move freely on the campsite. So it wasn't a big deal 😊
We are now near the southwestern tip of Portugal, where we will probably go tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
On the previous campsite, we mainly stayed with much younger surfers and so-called digital nomads who lived in vans. On this site, there are a lot of motorhomes. Probably many of them are here for the winter (from 31 & 91 days of stay, there is an extra discount 😉).
We have had excellent warm and sunny weather here for days (with temperatures up to 24 °C) and we are enjoying it 😎
This part of Portugal is mainly characterized by cliffs, making it sometimes more and sometimes less difficult to reach the beaches. However, there are many hiking trails right along the cliffs. For some of the trails, it is advisable to wear hiking shoes and if you have a fear of heights, it is sometimes not very pleasant 😉
By the way, there are many greenhouses in this region where, among other things, fruit is grown. We heard an offer for "raspberries from Portugal" on the radio. Maybe they come from our current neighborhood 🙂
Finally, a note:
This will be our last post about our trip on Vakantio. It seems that most of you who are regularly interested in our further travel progress are already following us on Polarsteps (there are hardly any clicks on Vakantio anymore), so we will continue to document our further journey there, but only there.

As always, we thank you for your interest and send you all warm greetings 🤗
