Difficult times when you have sold your HOME to travel in a home on six wheels! After being banned from entering the USA, we thought 'hej, let's go to the rented holiday home in Denmark for two weeks and then we'll see'...
A few days later, the borders to Denmark were closed and we thought 'oh well, luckily the motorhome is still there, Germany is also beautiful'...
Then, the day before yesterday, there was a travel ban for Germany. At first it may sound like 'unlucky for you', but it's a bit more difficult. The fact is, we are not allowed to park and sleep anywhere with the motorhome (our current home)!
It's not just the campsites that are closed, which is understandable, as you might share sanitary facilities and other spaces there and usually have social contact.
The parking space where we last stayed did not have such restrictions. We had enough distance to the few other motorhomes and were 'isolated' together in the motorhome.
Forced by circumstances, we started our way back to the north and 'congratulations to all municipalities in Germany', every parking space we visited was blocked or cordoned off.
For the time being, we are seeking asylum in front of my mother's (or rather Thomas' mother-in-law's) rented house, which is located in a building on a farm. This morning, the police even came to this remote farm (in Großenaspe) and checked on us. However, since we are registered in the district of Segeberg, there was apparently nothing to complain about (for now), so they continued on their way.
But this is not a long-term solution either, and with our nearly 9 meters long motorhome, we cannot just park it in the driveway of friends ;0(
At the moment, we feel like outcasts doing something forbidden!
So, things remain exciting for us.
Finally, I would like to mention that we are of course unhappy about the situation! However, we have great sympathy for those who are much more severely affected than us and whose existence is potentially endangered (we often think of all those people and we are aware that we are dealing with 'luxury problems'! We also applaud all those who continue to work 'on the frontline' and ensure that we all continue to be provided for and much more! We wish everyone good luck and hope that the nightmare will soon be over!
This is the situation for us. Greetings to all of you
Thomas, Janina and Triene
P.S .: Triene has already received her summer haircut and she is so happy about it that she frolics around like a version 10 years younger. For her, the world is fine as long as her pack is together, and we naturally see it the same way :0)
