Tag 326 - Bamboo-Rafting @ Khao Sok National Park

Hello everyone

Our day started with the usual routines and at 10 o'clock we went for breakfast. This hotel does not have a buffet, but each person gets a proper menu served. This consists of: sliced watermelons & pineapples, two pancakes, fried rice with vegetables, a fried egg, salad, sausages, a glass of orange juice, and a glass of water. We were amazed! We bravely ate through it and went back to the room.

There we discussed the travel route for the upcoming days. Currently, the plan is to stay a few more days in the region because we really like it here!

At 12:15, we set off on the scooter because we booked a bamboo rafting trip yesterday evening. It wasn't easy to find a tour provider because nobody at our hotel could help 😅.

At 12:50, we reached the meeting point and found out that they would have picked us up as well. We still had to drive a little bit, but the starting point was near our hotel. We agreed to follow him on the scooter so that we could go directly to the hotel after the river trip.

At 2 o'clock, the "Bamboo-Rafting" started. It was soooooooo beautiful!!! The river ran right through the jungle and the surroundings were really varied. After about 15 minutes of driving, we came to a path that led through the jungle to a cave. We followed it and arrived at a fireplace right in front of the cave. The guide brewed tea for us in a bamboo tube and in the meantime, we wanted to explore the caves a bit. But the fun was quickly over because the caves were full of mosquitoes! Our drink was served in self-made bamboo glasses, which we were even allowed to keep! We are really happy about that ☺️

Later, we went down the river for another 30 minutes and we were already at the docking point for the boat. We could have easily stayed another 1-2 hours sitting there and enjoying the beautiful view of the passing landscape ☺️

We took a short ride back to the starting point with a jeep, where our scooters were parked.

Around 4 o'clock, we were back at the hotel and ordered some food to our room right away. The food was really delicious and cost half of what we paid yesterday! Additionally, we could enjoy it peacefully on our terrace - simply perfect!

We spent the rest of the afternoon on the hammock on our terrace, observing the river and the surrounding nature.

At around 6 o'clock, we went out briefly to buy a few things, and originally we wanted to take a bath afterwards... However, we just realized that only cold water comes out and it's gradually getting too cold ☺️

So we'll just end the day on the great hammock and wish you a wonderful evening!
