Tandem tour day 16

Petra:

The day began just as it ended, uphill with pure sunshine. In between, there were a few smaller climbs and a lot of distance along the canal. A thunderstorm surprised us around noon and the universe provided us with a shelter. The thunderstorm was quite powerful. After waiting for 1.5 hours, we continued riding in a light drizzle and got "nice and clean" through manure washed onto the road from a field. Near a supermarket, we cleaned the bike. In the bakery of the supermarket, we treated ourselves to a sweet delight (the highlight of the day for me). We had to climb up another nasty hill to get to the accommodation, but the room is beautiful.

About the request for the French language:

So far, we have managed in the accommodations with a mixture of German, English, and French, and when shopping, we can just point at things. Nevertheless, we try to use our few words of French with the people we meet, and naturally, we understand more than we can speak. Funny enough, Uwe sometimes says "We like Germans." instead of "We are Germans." in French. It only brings a smile to the person he is talking to. On the other hand, we met a woman today who is cycling to Germany and she barely speaks German, so we'll manage as well.
