Travel to Middle Earth

Today was one of my planned highlight days :) We started early from our Bush Lodge towards Waitomo Caves. Most of us went underground for tubing or abseiling to see the glow worms. I had planned a small hike, but Rolex organized a visit to the Wildlife Center for us. Since I probably won't have the luck to see a wild kiwi, I went there as well. Unfortunately, no photos were allowed, but I was absolutely surprised by how big the bird is.. and clumsy ^^.

In the afternoon, it was finally time for Hobbiton. 😊

At first, I was a little disappointed with the shop, but everything that followed was indescribable for me personally. If I could live there, I would definitely do it. After the tour and what felt like several GB of photos, we had a cool ale at the Green Dragon, where, despite the heat, I absolutely had to sit by the fireplace ^^

After that, we were dropped off at our hostel in Rotorua, where we found out that the others who were not in Hobbiton got stuck with the bus. So let's see what kind of vehicle we will be using tomorrow 🙈😅

Right after checking in, I went to the park in front of the hostel with Alex (the pharmacist) and admired the geothermal pools and lakes there. It reminded me a little bit of Iceland :)
