After a total of nearly 11 hours of flight time, I arrived at JFK Airport in New York at around 11 am local time. Since I didn't take the right train to the subway at first and then had to realize that it doesn't run on weekends due to construction work and had to take a replacement bus, it took almost 2.5 hours until I reached my hostel. Since I had slept very little on the plane, I rested for a while and didn't leave for the city until around four o'clock. Since my hostel was right next to the Manhattan Bridge, I crossed it. At the end of the bridge, you had a wonderful view of the Brooklyn Bridge with the skyline of Downtown in the background. There I met Lena, who was also exploring New York. We decided to explore the city together for the next few hours. Unfortunately, when packing my camera gear, I didn't zip up the zipper on my camera backpack properly and my zoom lens fell out. It didn't survive the fall, of course... What a shame, this shouldn't have happened towards the end of the trip. We walked together through Chinatown to Union Square. From there, Lena had to go home and I made my way to Central Station. I took some photos there and as darkness fell, I continued my walk to Times Square. It was crowded with people and it was hard to move forward. From there, I took the subway to the southern part of Manhattan and walked all the way back to the hostel. Along the way, I passed Wall Street and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Phew, that was a long and exhausting tour of New York, but I only had 1.5 days here. Around midnight, I fell into my hostel bed completely exhausted... If you didn't quite understand where I was, that's okay too!
