Wonderful, this decision to stay a little longer here. The campground owners are super nice, the campground itself is not too big and all in all we woke up very satisfied here again. We already know the breakfast, but it tastes heavenly again. Starting the day with a croissant and coffee has its charm. After that, Chrissi wants to explore the area a bit on foot. She saw that you can go hiking from here.
But since it is already quite warm again and soon it will probably be very hot, we christen the whole thing "walk" and start walking. After the hiking parking lot, a path leads us directly along the rugged red cliffs. Quite idyllic with the green pine trees, red rocks, and blue sea.
We walk a few minutes and enjoy the view. Then we venture onto the rocks towards the water.
We take some nice photos without getting the camera wet and walk back satisfied.
Time for the beach. At the van, we make some sandwiches for the beach. Actually, we have already used up the last bit of ham, but it just tasted too good. Then we go to the beach. Somehow there seems to be less going on today. Probably a few campers have left. Our lunch tastes wonderful here in the sand and the water is lovely. But at some point, it becomes too cold. The wind has picked up quite a bit and we decide that there has been enough beach for today.
Back at the van, we realize that we only have side dishes left and no more meat. So we hop on our bikes, the next Spar supermarket is supposedly not far away. Well, we've already had our experiences with cycling. Somehow it is always uphill, just like this time. We arrive at Spar quite out of breath and realize that it is not what we had imagined. Too small and poorly stocked, they don't even have a decent selection of meat. Basti asks Google Maps and finds another Spar. It is 4 km away, but maybe it's bigger. So we pedal there, of course, up the hill again. These coastal villages are just made up of mountains. When we finally arrive at the top, we are disappointed once again. The Spar is just as big - or small - and even worse stocked than the first one. The mood rapidly deteriorates, but we don't give up. Today we want a piece of meat, period. So we continue cycling to Lidl in town, where we are at least sure of what we will find. And indeed we are not disappointed. Finally, we have our meat and start making our way back.
A "quick shopping trip" has turned into an 11 km uphill bike tour and we are quite exhausted when we finally return to the campground.
The food, pork fillet in white wine sauce, still tastes excellent and we go to bed somewhat reconciled with the coastal villages.
