After yesterday's day of rest from the rain, I had to do something. So I saddled my carbon lady and set off through the forests of Eastern Lithuania.
I am staying in a nature reserve here, and I am more aware of that on my bike than just at the campground. On sandy paths, I make my way forward through endless birch forests. Every now and then, a lake, occasionally a clearing. And suddenly, out of nowhere, a beautiful forest church with an adjacent cemetery. But even this clearing is not huge, and soon the Lithuanian forests swallow me up again. Eventually, I reach a larger connecting road and there, as if thrown down, is an intersection with a gas station, supermarket, various shops, and service providers. Here, I take a short break to refresh before heading back on a different route.
Without any problems, I get back to the campground on adventurous paths. I planned and carried out this tour, like the other activities of this trip, with Komoot, a navigation app that I really got to know and appreciate during these holidays. I can only recommend it!
I've earned a cool bath and a cool beer now. Today, I also have the time and desire to cook, so I fry the salmon steak that I bought the day before yesterday. Yum!
And now it's off to dreamland. Tomorrow, I'm heading north to Riga!
